In the Shadows – Squatchopedia 2.0 - Article 21

One of the things that most people don’t realize is that a Bigfoot Researcher usually wears multiple hats, myself, I’m a researcher, archivist, and investigator.  Today I would like to talk about my being an archivist.  There are many websites out there on the Internet that exist until the owner of such website loses interest and lets the site grow stagnant, but there is some good information on the site.  As an archivist, I utilize a program that lets me download the entire website and store it in the MABRC database so that when the domain expires or the site’s hosting company shuts it down because no one is paying the hosting fee, it’s saved for other researchers to go back and look at.

This is pretty much what the Squatchopedia 2.0 website is for, located at www.squatchopedia.org, it is a massive undertaking where all this database of knowledge is made available to all researchers as well as the public.  It contains information about hoaxes, well-known and lesser-known Bigfoot researchers, historical information, audio links and so much more.  This database will continue to grow on a daily basis as more and more entries are added, and hopefully it will aid researchers to do better research, as well as inform the public of the research being done that most won’t ever see on television.

When the video exists for an entry, it’s displayed right there for everyone to view.  The same goes for audio, pictures, thermal captures and casts, it’s all there for you to view.  Already a lot of researchers have deemed it an impressive tool to use for them.

As an archivist, I literally have 40 terabytes of storage related to Bigfoot, in the form of reports, websites, pictures, videos, etc. that I hope to put in an online database for all to use.  That is what an archivist does, collect the information for future use by those who need it.
