People often wonder how Bigfoot groups do expeditions, it’s not like you see on TV in a lot of instances. This last weekend, the MABRC conducted an expedition south of Stilwell in which planning for it took several months prior, a week in advance, equipment was examined and checked for any damage that would prevent it from working. New equipment that was ordered still goes through the same process.
While the first night only saw 7 people in attendance, plotwatcher cameras were set up around the camp, and with the rain coming in, a canopy was put up and a fire built underneath to keep everyone dry at least. Audio recorders are usually put out, but the rain prevented their deployment that night.
But using a tried and proven tactic, the researchers all sat facing each other, which allowed them to watch the back of the person across from them, this seems to lull the Bigfoot into thinking that you aren’t watching the area around you and they tend to get fairly close.
This was true for the night, as something larger than a human had walked up to within 50 feet in the darkness and rain and watched the researchers around the fire, and as one of the researchers rose up to stand, the creature bolted for the creek behind it. Using a thermal, the researchers could see where the creature’s feet had left a heat signature on the rocks where it had been standing.
Following up after it, three researchers need the creek and where it was thought to be hunkered down, so while one researcher with the thermal scope stood ready to catch a thermal picture of it, two other researchers went around to the other side to flush it out. Of course, by the time the other researchers had made it to the other side, the creature had bolted across the creek and into the woods beyond.
Throughout the whole night, rocks were being tossed in the general direction of the researchers as well as grunts and other vocalizations that are usually associated with Bigfoot. The activity seemed to be what was expected since the pandemic has kept a lot of people from going into the woods and Bigfoot appeared very curious to what the researchers were doing.
